Woodbine-The Experience of Going to the Races is Completely Reconsidered for a New Audience

Toronto, Ontario

RevelHouse collaborated with design firm Mackay Wong to facilitate strategic visioning workshops with Woodbine Entertainment Group to develop a new guest experience at Woodbine Racetrack. These workshops formed the framework for us to program and design several zones at Woodbine Racetrack to attract millennials to the horse racing experience. A unique race-watching zone was designed by transforming traditional stadium-style seating into a variety of outdoor green terraces with fire pits, sofas, and ample vegetation. Inside the complex, the restaurant and bar were reimagined as a modern interpretation of horse racing, with references to jockey apparel, horse equipment, and stables. An open kitchen and outdoor horseshoe pitching also take the experience of being at the track into the 21st century.
